A Punjab wedding isn't one car ride — it's a three- or four-day operation. Relatives fly in from Canada, the UK and the USA on different days, functions move between homes, gurdwaras, hotels and venues, and the baraat has to arrive on time. Transport is one of the easiest things to get wrong and one of the most stressful when it goes wrong.
This checklist is based on the weddings we've run since 2010.
1. Book early enough
- 8 or more cars: book at least 4 weeks ahead.
- NRI weddings with airport pickups: 8–12 weeks ahead.
- Wedding-season weekends (November to February): 4–6 months ahead. Good cars and drivers go quickly.
2. Work out how many cars you need each day
Every wedding is different, but a typical three-day Punjab wedding looks something like this:
| Day | Function | Cars |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 | Roka / mehndi | 4–6 sedans + 1 MPV |
| Day 2 | Sangeet / cocktail | 8–10 |
| Day 3 | Wedding day | 12–18, including the baraat car |
| Day 4 | Vidaai and departures | 6–8 sedans + 1 luxury car |
Don't forget the extra runs: elderly relatives who need picking up separately, the makeup artist, and guests going back to different hotels at night.
3. Plan the airport pickups
If relatives are flying in, list every arrival:
- Passenger names
- Flight number and date
- Which hotel or home they're going to
We track every flight, so if one lands late, the driver waits — the first 2 hours of delay are free. Collect this list at least 2 weeks before the wedding.
4. Choose the baraat car
The groom's car is usually an Innova Crysta or a premium sedan, decorated with fresh marigold and rose and ribbons. Standard decoration is included in our packages; full floral or custom-colour decoration is ₹2,500–5,000 extra.
Want a Mercedes, Audi or Range Rover for the couple? Ask at least 2 weeks ahead. These come from verified vendors in Chandigarh or Delhi and cost ₹15,000–35,000 per day.
5. Have one person in charge
The biggest difference between booking cars one by one and booking a fleet is coordination. With a fleet, you get:
- One coordinator — one name, one phone number for every car
- A WhatsApp group with all the drivers, so a midnight schedule change reaches everyone at once
- Backup cars on standby if anything breaks down
- Routes planned in advance around traffic for the baraat
6. Send these details two weeks before
- Guest flight numbers
- Hotel addresses
- The wedding card (so drivers have every venue and time)
- Your preferences for the bride's and groom's cars
7. Know what it costs
Indicative packages:
| Package | Cars | Days | From |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single-day baraat | 5–6 | 1 | ₹35,000 |
| Standard 2-day wedding | 8–10 | 2 | ₹75,000 |
| Full 3-day wedding | 12–16 | 3 | ₹1,40,000 |
| NRI mega-wedding | 20–30+ | 4–5 | ₹2,50,000 |
Packages include drivers in white shirts or kurtas, fuel within Punjab, baraat car decoration and a coordinator. Delhi airport runs, Himachal or J&K inter-state tax and the overnight driver allowance (₹300/day) are extra. Quotes include GST.
Booking from abroad
